Herfa Thompson and Dr Zoe Tongue share their exploration into reproductive technology and the imagination of a utopian future for reproductive rights.
Friday 26 July
6pm – 8pm
Convention House, East Street Arts, St Mary’s Lane, Leeds
Visual artist Herfa Martina Thompson and Law lecturer Dr Zoe Tongue share their exploration into reproductive technology and the imagination of a utopian future for reproductive rights.
The sharing event will showcase the work that they’ve produced as part of their Leeds Creative Labs follow-on fund collaboration – a programme that partners artists and academics, initiated by the University of Leeds’ Cultural Institute.
Their research has asked how they can explore reproductive health experiences, and the stigma attached, using art as a means of conversation to speculate a utopian future for reproductive rights. The sharing event will showcase their collaborative artworks in response to this.
Herfa and Zoe will also run a public creative workshop on Saturday 27 July to explore wider reproductive health experiences.
