We’re inviting artists to apply for our upcoming Riso Residency, an opportunity to explore and experiment with Risograph printing for free.

This residency offers dedicated time to learn the process, develop new work, and expand creative approaches using our Riso room, which includes two risograph printers, with a range of colours, a folding machine, and a guillotine. This makes it perfect for crafting prints, or developing zines.

Deadline: Monday 12 May

Whether you’re new to Riso or looking to push your practice further, this is a chance to immerse yourself in a hands-on, collaborative printmaking experience.

The residency will include induction and then twenty hours of independent working with the risograph machines. Essential materials will be covered as part of the residency.

Apply by the 12 May

Frequently Asked Questions:

Is there any payment as part of the residency?
This is an unfunded residency to support the development of your practice, so on this occasion, there is no fee.

I’m not based in Leeds or West Yorkshire, can I apply?
Absolutely! Though we can’t support you with a fee, we can support you with accommodation on-site for up to four nights.

Is there a materials budget?
We are only able to supply essential materials, such as copy paper, ink and masters.

What dates will the residency be?
We’re flexible with dates that work for you, but would be interested in the time being spent in the next two to three months.

Is there an opportunity for me to exhibit work made as part of the residency?
There is a likelihood that we’ll be able to show work made as part of Open Studios or other events in the months following the residency.
