An evening of quiet, precise free improvisation and experimental music at Patrick Studios.
Free Music Lessons brings an evening of experimental music to Patrick Studios on Friday 27 November, 7.30 to 11pm, with solo saxophone from Bhob Rainey, a set from Squat the Band, and solo percussion from Felix Parkin-Christie.
The line-up
Bhob Rainey is a leading figure in electroacoustic improvisation and “lowercase” music, and formed the band Nmperign with Greg Kelley. He plays solo saxophone, so expect quiet, precise sounds and the gentler side of free improv.
Squat the Band are Josh Hart and Jill McKnight, a local duo who are soon to leave Leeds. Both have exhibited at Patrick Studios before, but this may be their first gig in the building.
Felix Parkin-Christie brings solo percussion, with creative and perhaps meditative approaches to the instrument.
Tickets
Tickets are £7 to £13 on a pay what you feel basis, and are available on the door or in advance. Nobody will be turned away for lack of funds.
Accessibility
The space should be wheelchair accessible, but there is a step into the building. If you have specific access requirements, get in touch with the promoters, Free Music Lessons, via the mulch listing.
