Silvia Liebig‘s artist book I’m Gonna Find You White Rabbit!: Being Beeston Projekt 2019-2023 is now available to buy.

Artist House 45 was a back-to-back terrace house in Beeston, Leeds, exploring the impact of long-term artist residencies. Karen Watson and Jon Wakeman from East Street Arts developed and provided the residency project.

Over the years, Artist House 45 has seen a number of artists pass through it. They have been invited to spend time with the house, stay a while, get to know its immediate location and neighbours and make work in response. What they produced might have been something subtle, something remote or something unmissable.

Silvia Liebig, the artist in residence at the house in autumn 2019 created the “Being Beeston Projekt”. One of the main aims of this project was to reflect on identity and belonging. The result of this research was presented in a complex installation-action staging in the building.

In 2022, Silvia began to work on the documentation, which was not intended to be a sober summary of facts, but a new artistic exploration.
