We have housed many residencies with artists ranging from early-career to established practitioners, throughout our 30-year history. It is our opportunity to provide artist development support whilst simultaneously learning from the extraordinary creatives we host.
A residency at East Street Arts is a dedicated amount of time and space to explore, experiment, and collaborate within a supportive environment. Our residencies place emphasis and value on ‘the process’ rather than on rigid outputs. Collaboration lies at the heart of our work and is reflected throughout our residencies, with artists being encouraged to engage with our wider programme and local communities to spark meaningful conversations, during their time with us.
In essence, East Street Arts residencies are more than just spaces for artists to create; they are vibrant hubs of creativity, collaboration, and community. By providing a platform for artists to explore new ideas, connect with others, and engage with the world around them, these residencies play a vital role in shaping the cultural landscape and fostering positive social change.
