East Street Arts has partnered with Bow Arts to bring Artist Studio Finder to Yorkshire and the North.

East Street Arts has partnered with Bow Arts to extend Artist Studio Finder to Yorkshire and the North of England. From June 2026, not-for-profit studio providers in the region will be able to register on the platform and promote their spaces directly to artists.

Artist Studio Finder is a free digital platform set up by Bow Arts in 2011. It allows artists to search for affordable, trustworthy studio space suited to their practice, and gives studio providers a way to reach artists across the country. With the partnership now in place, artists moving between London and the North can search for space across both regions in one place.

The collaboration reflects a shared view that proper studio space is not a luxury for artists, but the foundation for sustaining a practice. East Street Arts has spent over 30 years working with empty and meanwhile buildings across Leeds and beyond, giving artists room to work while playing a part in the regeneration of those areas.

Quotes from the partnership

Jon Wakeman of East Street Arts said: “Artists need proper places to make work, and those places do more than house a practice. They anchor artists in communities and help regenerate the areas around them. Extending Artist Studio Finder north means more studio providers can be found by the artists who need them, and more places can benefit from having artists rooted in them as part of our national campaign securing better workspaces for artists.”

Marcel Baettig of Bow Arts said: “Artist Studio Finder was established in 2011 in London. It was an instant success, supporting thousands of early career artists across the capital to find proper, safe, secure, registered providers where they can thrive and build their careers. It’s so exciting to now spread this simple idea to the North, through our partnership with East Street Arts. Who, like us, have been committed to serving and supporting our creative communities for well over 30 years.”

Studio providers in Yorkshire and the North can register from June 2026. Artists looking for studio space can visit the platform using the link below.
