We’re excited to be joined by Finnish artist Linda Granfors throughout October as part of a new residency
Linda Granfors is a performance and visual artist based in Helsinki, Finland. Since 2001 she has been part of the performance art duo Linda and Aura, making performances, installations and exhibitions. Throughout these processes, her work is interested in expressing and exploring contrasts and ambiguity in stories, history and human experiences, using an artistic approach which is playful, humoristic but serious. She uses a wide range of media to create works – from performance art to painting, installations, costumes, textiles and sculptures.
Throughout the residency, Linda will be getting to know Leeds and Yorkshire, as well as exploring the facilities we have at Convention House, and is especially interested in working with ceramics. The residency will allow her to develop her practice in response to the activities she undertakes and the time she spends with us.
Linda will join us from the 1 October, until 31 October. We’ll be checking in with Linda on social media – make sure to follow our channels to find out what they’re doing throughout this time.
The residency is a collaboration between the Finnish Artists Studio Foundation and the Helsinki International Artist Programme, and it is designed to foster cross-cultural artistic exchange between Great Britain and Finland.
