We’re checking in at the Art Hostel, highlighting how incredible the rooms and spaces are.
Next, we’re looking at Room 8, Sarah Li, Edwin Li & Lady Kitt’s homely The Common(ing).
The Common(ing) is a space dedicated to togetherness and shared acts. Taking inspiration from shrines, at which travellers are encouraged to leave something behind for future visitors, it offers a place for the sharing of experience and connection to the space.
Themes from the circular economy are present throughout, encouraging people to recycle and reuse, as objects are passed from one to another. This six-bed dorm is the perfect room to pass through on your travels, where others’ stories of their travels can inspire togetherness and reflection on your own. Through a shared and intimate space, people can exchange something physical, audible, emotional and conceptual and carry it with them as they journey onwards.
