Jean Dent (she/her) is a Chartered Surveyor and retired Director of Development at Leeds City Council.

I have public sector experience in governance, regeneration and property development, economic and cultural development, and involvement in education through being a governor at a university and two primary schools. Additionally, I have been a board member of The Tetley contemporary arts charity for eight years.

I work with East Street Arts because of its track record in supporting artists, communities and regeneration and the impact it makes on the quality of life in towns and cities. I work with the wider arts and culture sector because I believe they are critical to the quality of life in any community and its economic growth. I have been involved for many years in the regeneration of Leeds. I have a personal and long-standing interest in the history of art and enjoy exhibitions and a wide range of cultural events.
