Leeds First Ever Social Enterprise Art Hostel is coming…
The Art Hostel came about from the motivation to create a space in the city to host visitors in an individual way, and inspired from years of experience of visiting other european cities and how they host people.
The Art Hostel in Leeds, is a project developed by East Street Arts and supported by Bauman Lyons Architects and Key Fund. It plans to harness the creative talents, and pure imagination, of artistic practitioners; welcoming audiences from in and out of Leeds to engage in a new cultural experience.
Each bedroom will be a unique design, contemporary and comfortable, while a project space hosts a programme of artists events and installations, linking back out into the creative underbelly of the city. It will be staffed by artists trained in the hospitality sector, the residents will be encouraged to contribute to the future of the hostel. This is a unique offer, providing an innovative way to stay and visit or to let us host guests within Leeds.
Who is it for, and when will it open?
It is for anyone with an open mind and looking to explore something a little different in Leeds. Commissioned artists will have shaped the design of every room, and an ongoing series of installations, performances and projects will take place through a project space and the general make-up of the Hostel. We are set for opening our doors in full in early 2016.
