A City Less Grey

“Compromising with colour means grey, and we have enough grey!”

At a time when the city is creating a case to be Capital of Culture, collaborating to write its first, co-produced Cultural Strategy and employing more people in the creative industries than it ever has, this project aims to reflect the vibrancy of a growing, multicultural hub by bringing colour, curiosity and interest to the streets of Leeds.

After a recent flurry of public commissions, such as Art Hostel, the front of Vicar Lane and Jiem’s Murals, East Street Arts are building a reputation for creating innovative opportunities to intervene in public space. We want to build on this and offer well-funded and supportive opportunities to artists.
