Carla Moss

‘For tribal man SPACE was the uncontrollable mystery, for technological man it is TIME that occupies the same role.’  (Marshall McLuhan 1911-1980, ‘Magic that changes mood’ in the mechanical Bride, 1951)

I am interested in Time. Time that is philosophical, historical, spiritual, sociological and physical. Time that impacts us and influences us, leads us and destroys us, manipulates us and guides us.

In short, my work could be described as an ‘unbounded investigation between ideas, acts and the material world’  (Rebecca Solnit 2001 ‘Wanderlust. A history of walking’) that materialise themselves in artists’ books, works on paper and installations.
