Salon Art Prize | Call for Submissions

The Salon Art Prize are calling for submissions. With a new venue and larger prize fund, the Salon Art Prize is bigger than ever.

Deadline for applications: Saturday 25th August 2012

Over the past five years the Salon Art Prize has exhibited 428 artists and welcomed over 9700 visitors. They have now moved to 25b Vyner Street, E2 9DG (formerly Nettie Horn / Vilma Gold) which affords them a third more space (roughly 1400sq ft) and so we will allow the selectors the opportunity to exhibit upto 120 artists, whilst at the same time giving all of the art works more room.

They will also offer a much larger overall prize fund of £10,500. £500 for the 2-D Media Category, £500 for the Photography Category, £500 for the Sculpture Category and £1000 for the painting category, as well as £500 of artists surfaces and a solo exhibition supported by John Jones. One overall category or Selectors’ Prize winner will receive a further £8000.

This year’s selection panel consists of:

Gavin Delahunty – (Head of Exhibitions, TATE Liverpool)
Godfrey Wordsdale – (Director, BALTIC centre for contemporary art)
Anthony Spira – (Director, Milton Keynes gallery)
Susanna Brown – (Curator, Photographs, Victoria & Albert Museum)

The Salon Art Prize supports Painting, Photography, Sculpture & Installation, and 2-D Media (Collage, Drawing, Printmaking etc.).

To apply please email three images of work you would like to exhibit to salonartprize [at] mattroberts.org.uk and pay an Associate Membership fee of £10. Your submission may consist of three separate works or multiple views of 1-2 works. The membership fee can be paid by making a paypal payment to payments [at] mattroberts.org.uk or by sending a cheque made out to Matt Roberts Arts to: Matt Roberts Arts, PO BOX 357, Ashford, UK.

If unsuccessful in an application, as an Associate Member you will be able to benefit from ongoing professional development events and one-to-one sessions.
