This is an open call to submit work to the Commonist Gallery (aka Communist Gallery), to be shown at various locations in Leeds.

The Commonist Gallery takes different forms at different times and places. It is not affiliated with any political party and is not bound by any doctrine. Rather it is a chance to create real discourse, outside the depoliticised jockeying for artistic validation. The gallery is a space to manifest what the idea of communism might mean today. We are mostly concerned with what it means to act and produce communistically at this moment in time against the background of the bank bailouts, savage public spending cuts, draconian surveillance and policing, and intensive monitoring and marketisation of areas of life such as health and education.

What we are looking for:

1 minute films: in either .mov or .avi format sent by file transfer (dropbox, yousendit etc.) or a link to a downloadable YouTube film to: cgallerytv [at] gmail.com
(also tag your YouTube film ‘CgalleryTV‘).

These will be shown on various monitors in locations in Leeds, and will be added to the Commonist TV show reel/YouTube channel: CGTV.youtube

Deadline for 1 Minute Films for the Leeds showreel:
Sunday 24th June

Commonist Gallery, c/o East Street Arts, Patrick Studios, St. Mary’s Lane, Leeds LS9 7EH, UK
