The Great North Art Show promises affordable, original art by professional artists.

Open Daily – Free Admission

This year the show will feature a fantastic selection of artwork by some of the North’s finest contemporary painters, printmakers along with an exhibition of work by four internationally famous photographers. Many of these exhibiting artists have works in prestigious collections throughout the world.
The exhibition aims to create an opportunity to enjoy and appreciate high quality art in a fantastic setting and an exciting art trail through this historic city.
The Carter Jonas Prize
This prestigious prize is for the artist exhibiting the best body of work in the show. The judges of the prize are Simon Palmer, from Royal Academy judge and Jane Sellars, Curator of the Mercer Gallery Harrogate. The prize will be presented on the evening of 31st August at the Private View organised by the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
